Had a quickie lunch here , ate the roast goose drumstick ( goose meat was tender , skin wasn’t crispy but it was nice to chew ) rice cost rm49 with sour mustard vegetables soup ( tantalizing )
Delicious Roast Goose Experience at Chen Chen Hong Kong Goose Duck Chicken! 29/07/2025 I just had to share my happy dining experience today at Chen Chen Hong Kong Goose Duck Chicken (珍珍深井燒鵝燒鴨)! We had roast goose, char siew, and roasted pork, the portions were generous and the flavors incredible! The boss and crew were super friendly and even treated us to delicious Bok Choy Soup (Choi Gon Tong/Cài gān tāng), Chinese Sauerkraut/Pickled Cabbage (Suāncài), plus a complimentary Chinese herbal tea! The goose meat was juicy and the gravy packed with flavor. The char siew and roasted pork (Siew Yok/Shao Rou) were perfectly seasoned and just downright delicious. I loved it so much that I ordered take away roasted duck & roast goose to enjoy later. Finally, I’ve fulfilled my craving for great roast goose right here in Malaysia – truly the best! ???????? Came here specifically for their specialty roast goose. The roast goose was chunky, meat was tender and moist,and well seasoned and salty. It was a literal street side stall eating experience exacerbated by the noon day heat and heavy passing by traffic, which I supposed all lends to the trials of hunting for good food. At least they were quite friendly and fast with their service.
Tucked in Pudu, Chen Chen Hong Kong Roast is a must-visit for authentic street food lovers. Their roast goose is a standout—crispy skin, tender, juicy meat, and a rich, slightly gamey flavor that sets it apart from duck. It’s more oily than what I’m used to. Served with turmeric (yellow) rice, the meal is both hearty and flavorful. The humble street-side setup adds to the charm, making it a go-to spot for a satisfying and nostalgic meal.
Pricing reasonable. Great service. Roast goose skin not crispy but meat are juicy. Sweet sauce turn out to be salty. Also don’t have sour plum sauce. Rice also use yellow ginger to add on colour n lack of chicken oil rice fragrant. Overall everything is quite salty n pretty thirsty after meal. Atmosphere average as is sitting beside the road
Seems to be a popular place amongst the locals. The roast goose was pretty good. While the meat was a little dry, the sauce was really good. Kinda elevated the taste. Char siew was so so only.
This is an absolutely amazing little place. It is basically a covered space on a sidewalk, with simple seating for around 20 people. The food is incredible. I am not a fan of duck -- I usually find it to be too oily -- but here I usually have a couple pieces and very much enjoy it. (I know that may not sound like much, but that is high praise from me for duck.) Despite the name, however, the standouts to me are the two pork dishes -- the char siew and siew yuk are consistently some of the best I've had. The rice is also one of the top one or two rices I've had around Kuala Lumpur (with the other being Wadi Hawdramawt on Jalan Ampang). And the chicken broth is also outstanding. As I said, to me, the food is incredible -- everything is full of flavor and perfectly cooked, and at an excellent price. Also, friends have ordered turkeys and geese from here ahead of big holiday meals and have said the process is easy and the birds are perfect. The staff is friendly, patient, and helpful.
